A couple of months ago (OK, a lot of months ago, like maybe April) I wrote a ~3000 word businessy profile of Tumblr. It was fun to report and try to work out their mysterious business model, etc. and I think the final product is “pretty good.” Maybe a little boring, but basically anything that long that focuses on business is pretty boring.

It was supposed to run in Slate’s The Big Money, but that thing was shut down a few months ago and now the reportage is too old to publish anywhere else anyway, I think. So here’s the dilemma — should I stick it online, or keep it for myself?

The only thing keeping me from putting it online is that it’s old and no longer completely factual, what with staff changes and numbers, etc. Also it was originally produced for a class, so there might be some sort of issue there? I don’t even know.

Please advise.
