Over at Slate’s Culture Gabfest this week, music critic Jody Rosen gives a really interesting, enlightening piece of unadulterated praise for country musician Brad Paisley. He touts country music as, essentially, the sincerest and purest kind of pop music, in a way that I never really thought about before. It’s in the last third or so of the podcast, but the first two segments (on 30 Rock and Baby Einstein) are worth listening to as well.

Wholeheartedly endorsed. I’m going to get a Brad Paisley album, I think.
