Steve Spillman

is a good friend of yours.
He is also the community manager @GroupMe.

It pains me to write this type of post because if I saw it on someone else’s Tumblr I would be like uguggghhhh but whatever. This is a new feature on my blog called ‘this drink is good’, and it is about drinks that are good.
Things that you can groan about are in bold, but seriously, you should make this drink.
I read a recipe for this drink over someone’s shoulder on my flight back from SXSW. I think the article said it was sold on the streets of India, which seems unlikely, but what do I know? I was reminded of it yesterday when I went to a tasting/tour at Breuckelen™ Distilling Company, where a few dudes make gin. I bought a bottle. Interesting gin. Look at this fucking bottle:

(also look at my authentic Breuckelen™ Neighbors’ BackYard! That sign advertises insurance. And yep, that’s a toilet. Oh, so Breuckelen™!)
You’ll need:
gin. the better the gin, the better the drink, i bet.
seltzer
limes
cumin
celery salt
simple syrup. make some by boiling water and adding sugar. boom.
First rim the glass (!) with a mixture of 2 pts. celery salt + 1 pt. cumin. A little bit spicy and very salty! Rub a lime on the edge first to make it all stick.
Fill the glass with ice.
Put some gin in there. A shot or something.
Squeeze half a lime, or a little more, into it.
Add about half a shot (?) of simple syrup.
Fill the rest of the glass with seltzer.
Boom! A little sweet, a little salty, a little spicy. Much simpler than other drinks with similar flavor profiles.
This thing really grows on you. Happy Sunday afternoon!
