Now I consider myself a gentleman, and this next one I still feel bad about, but it was only used in case of an emergency.  Had plans to meet the gal in Union Square.  She’s an hour late.  Won’t answer her phone calls, but will text me.  Says to meet her at W 16th and Union Square at the subway entrance.  Which entrance, north or south?  She didn’t know the difference.  So turns out, she has this emergency meeting to go see an apartment.  ”Where is it?”  ”In Brooklyn.”  ”Where in Brooklyn?”  She doesn’t know.  On the train platform, she asks if we can take the R or the Q.  ”Well it depends on where you’re going.  Where is this place?”  After much debate over whether or not the R will go to this mystery location, I finally get her phone from her and see the directions she has written down.  I’ve known this girl about 5 minutes, and am already annoyed with her.  Imagine how I felt when I see this apartment is way out near Coney Island.  Like, take the train all the way to Coney Island, and then grab a bus far away.  So, on this crowded R train, I told her I’ll look up where we’re going, and shimmy halfway down the car to glance at the MTA map.  Train stops at 8th St - NYU, doors open, I bail.  Horrible, yes.  But I wasn’t about to go to Coney Island with this girl.  I ran for about 3 blocks, fearing she’d seen me.  Even weirder, she never texted me or called me to complain.  Just accepted I ditched her.

This is one of the best stories Lloyd ever told me, because it is just so unlike him that it’s almost unbelievable. Great story, though, right? Max said he liked it mostly because he’s sort of jealous that he’s never gotten to do something so ballsy, and I sort of agree. The daring!

Girlz of New York: in spite of the events of this story, I can vouch for this guy. He’ll treat you well. He deserves someone like yall. The end.
